Pete Firman: Trickster (Review)

Pete Firman is a comic-magician, it may sound corny but it works. Some of the tricks, including the opener, are quite easy to work out but these are backed up by some stellar jokes, then there are tricks which leave me speechless and I have no idea how they are achieved. It’s the perfect formula that works year-on-year for Firman at the Fringe, however bringing a whole new set of material every year.

His audience interaction is impressive as always, making light hearted fun of some people but he never taking it too far.

It’s nice to see that in this day and age where magic is mainly headed towards street acts such as Dynamo, the showmanship of magic is still prominent which is what Pete is spearheading in the UK and certainly the best of his game at Edinburgh.

You can catch “Pete Firman: Trickster” at the Pleasance Courtyard at 20:00 (21:00) until August 24th. Tickets can be purchased here.
