Comedy Edinburgh Fringe 2017 Review

Richard Herring: Oh Frig, I’m 50!

Richard Herring is a master of constructing shows, with his latest endeavour reinforcing this. Looking back on what turning 50 means to Richard, we’re given an insight into his antics and twisted tales.

While it may not be as thematically structured as his older work, it’s a more personal and reflective hour. There’s callbacks to the previous shows, especially Oh Fuck, I’m 40 which is definitely recommended viewing/listening. When I get back home, this is the first thing I’m going to watch.

Richard Herring remains at the top of his game, even if he has got a little bit older! Self-observantly, he’s not a “mainstream comedian” but for the comedy die-hards (especially in this Edinburgh bubble) then Oh Frig, I’m 50! is a must see. I’m already looking at catching the show on it’s UK tour as it feels there is so much to say that couldn’t fit into sixty minutes.

Richard Herring: Oh Frig, I’m 50! is on at 7.30pm everyday at the Pleasance Courtyard until the 26th August
