It’s such a cliché to say in a review that a comedian’s hour was like sitting in a pub hearing them preach stories from their past, but Carl Donnelly achieves exactly this.

Within the relaxed atmosphere at the top deck of Bob’s BlundaBus, we hear tales from Carl’s experiences with hallucinogenics and shamans, debunking conspiracy theories and examining the power behind crystals. It sounds bonkers, but manages to come across completely sane giving an insight into someone’s views on all of the above.

The hour flies by, and a little part of me hoped that I could come back the following night for a new round of Carl’s stories.

Carl Donnelly performs The Nutter On The Bus at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at The Blunda Bus from 3rd -27th Aug at 7:30pm. More info and tickets are available at www.carldonnelly.co.uk
